Arkansas man arrested after fight with deputies in Minden

by Minden Press-Herald

A Clarksville, Arkansas man was arrested Tuesday after reportedly giving deputies a false name and fighting with them at Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center.

According to the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to Syrup Mill Road on October 28 in reference to two suspicious people going door to door asking for oil. When deputies arrived, one of the men gave several conflicting explanations about what he and his companion were doing.

Deputies said the man was uncooperative, providing what they believed was a false name and date of birth. He reportedly did not know his address or Social Security number, and dispatch could not locate a record matching the information provided.

The man was taken to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for identification. Once there, deputies said he refused to cooperate, would not place his hand on the fingerprint scanner, and began resisting with force. Six deputies reportedly struggled with him in the booking room before placing him in a cell. One deputy received a lip injury during the altercation.

The man was later identified as 31-year-old Daniel Wade Reynolds II of Clarksville, Arkansas.

Reynolds was charged with battery of a police officer, resisting an officer, and resisting an officer with force or violence.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
