Betty Harper Stanley

by Minden Press-Herald

We mourn the passing of Betty Harper Stanley, a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and active member of the Doyline community. Betty was born on September 16, 1950, in Shreveport, Louisiana, to loving parents James and Doris Harper. Tragically, she left this world on October 17, 2023, due to a sudden illness. Her departure has left a void in the lives of all who knew her.
Betty married the love of her life, Clyde Stanley, in 1971. Together, they built a life filled with love, support, and cherished memories. They were blessed with two children, Rachael Muniz (spouse Joey Muniz) and Carly Collier (spouse Brian Collier). Betty adored her family, and her children were the center of her universe.
Betty was also a doting grandmother to five grandchildren, who brought immense joy and happiness into her life. She cherished each moment spent with them, serving as a role model and showering them with love and affection.
Betty graduated from Fair Park High School in 1968. She remained an active member of the Fairpark PowWow group until her death.
During her professional career, Betty worked with the State of Louisiana in many capacities, where she provided dedicated service until her retirement in 2010. Her work ethic, diligence, and kind nature endeared her to colleagues and those she interacted with throughout the years.
Betty’s commitment to her faith led her to be an active member of the Doyline United Methodist Church. She lived out her beliefs by faithfully attending services and actively engaging in community outreach efforts. Betty’s selflessness and capacity to lend a helping hand will always be remembered by those who were touched by her kindness.
The sudden illness that claimed Betty’s life has left a profound emptiness in the hearts of her family and friends. We will forever cherish her memory and the imprints of love she left upon our souls. Betty’s legacy is one of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to family, faith, and community.
As we bid farewell to Betty, we find solace in the knowledge that she is at peace, reunited with loved ones who preceded her in death. Betty’s impact on our lives will continue to resonate, and her memory will forever be engraved in our hearts.
A memorial service will be held Monday, October 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m at Doyline United Methodist Church in Doyline Louisiana.
