Bites & Beats returns to Miller Quarters with food, fun, and live music

by Amber McDown

Residents gathered at Miller Quarters Park on Monday evening for the return of Bites & Beats, a community event featuring food vendors, family-friendly activities, and a live performance by Monroe-based musician Josh Love.

The event, free to attend, began in the early evening and drew a steady crowd of attendees enjoying mild spring weather. Families and friend groups gathered in the park while children and adults played cornhole.

Josh Love, known for his versatile guitar work and dynamic covers of artists ranging from John Mayer and Jimi Hendrix to Paramore and ZZ Top, played a crowd-pleasing set. His mix of pop, rock, blues, and R&B covers kept the audience engaged throughout the night.

Food trucks and vendors offered a wide selection of fare, including chicken, hot dogs, Latin cuisine, and fresh lemonade. Alcoholic beverages were also available for purchase.

The relaxed atmosphere and accessible setting made the event appealing to all ages. Organizers hope the Bites & Beats series continues to grow in popularity as more residents experience its blend of entertainment and community connection.
