Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC) is set to host the Region 7 Career and Technical Education (CTE) Conference on Friday, January 5, from 8:30 am until 3 pm in the Stephen W. Slaughter Theatre in Building C on the Bossier campus, located at 6220 East Texas Street. This conference aims to convene K-12 teachers, educators, and administrators from the eight parishes in the region that receive Carl Perkins federal funds to discuss and collaborate on enhancing career readiness and workforce development initiatives.

A pivotal feature of the conference will be a roundtable discussion featuring Dr. Rick Bateman, Jr., Chancellor of Bossier Parish Community College (BPCC); Dr. Jayda Spillers, Chancellor of Northwest Louisiana Technical Community College (NLTCC); and Angie White, Chief Operating Officer of North Louisiana Economic Partnership (NLEP). The discussion will center on the regional economy and the significant role secondary educators can play in meeting employment demands.

Keynote speaker Paul Reiser, a local businessman, will share insights into the intersection of education and workforce development.

The afternoon will feature informative breakout sessions covering essential topics such as employability skills, workforce development strategies, associate degrees for secondary students, Google Classroom integration, and Understanding Jump Start 2.0.
