Camp Minden advisory group to meet

by Minden Press-Herald

The Camp Minden Citizens Advisory Group will get an update on the Comprehensive Performance Testing ongoing at the contained burn chamber at Camp Minden.

Set for 6:30 p.m., Friday, June 3, at First Baptist Church in Doyline, Dr. Slawo Lomnicki, EPA/SKEO expert for the CAG, will present his appraisal of the CPT testing ongoing at the burn site on Camp Minden.

This testing must verify emissions safety and be approved by the EPA and LDEQ before the destruction unit is approved for operation.

To date, 1,413,181 pounds of demilitarized M6 artillery propellant and clean burning igniter have been destroyed.

Operations ceased on May 12, and the CPT began May 18.

First Baptist Church in Doyline is located at 165 Fuller St.
