Funeral services for Carnes E. McMillon will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home Chapel in Minden with Bro. Ronnie Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow at Bear Creek Cemetery in Bienville Parish. The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday, March 25, 2016 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Carnes was born Aug. 21, 1919 in Attala County, Mississippi and entered into rest March 23, 2016 in Minden. Born and raised in north central Mississippi, Carnes McMillon served in the United States Army Air Corps as a Staff Sergeant from Aug. 29, 1942 until Sept. 15, 1945. He was stationed in Tibenham, England in the 445th bomber group, squadron 702, 8th Air Force until the end of WWII. He moved his young family to Minden in 1952. He loved family, church, friends, farming, and baseball.

He was preceded in death by his wife Elsie, his parents, two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by his daughter Barbara Batchelor and husband Malcolm of Ringgold, daughter Ardys Winters of McCool, Mississippi, his son Norman McMillon and wife Sandy of Minden, stepdaughter Ruby McClaran and husband John of Minden, stepson Mike Calhoun and wife Fran of Homer. Mr. McMillon has 15 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Brian Glover, Alex Collins, Adrian Batchelor, Jeremy Calhoun, Wesley McClaran, and Chris McClaran.

Honorary pallbearers will be Logan McCorkhill, Matthew Justice, Brody Glover, Braxton Glover, Nicholas Justice, Louie Collins, and Brian Batchelor.

Special thanks to all the nurses and staff of AIME Hospice, to Pastor John for his visits, to his sitters, Tina Weston and Karen Sue Penton for their friendship, love, and wonderful care given to our daddy, and to Bro. Ronnie Whitlock and the Beech Springs family for all the love and prayers.
