Christmas on Main to light up downtown Springhill Nov. 29

by Amber McDown

The holiday season will kick off in downtown Springhill on Saturday, November 29, with the return of Christmas on Main, an all-day celebration hosted by Springhill Main Street in partnership with the Springhill–North Webster Chamber of Commerce.

Festivities will begin at 9 AM with two daytime attractions: the Hot Cocoa Crawl, where visitors can sample cocoa creations while shopping downtown, and the Mistletoe Market at the South Main Mall, open until 3 PM with local crafts, holiday treats and gifts.

The Annual Lighted Christmas Parade will roll up Main Street at 5 PM, featuring illuminated floats, Christmas music and an appearance by Santa Claus. Following the parade, the city will hold its Tree Lighting Ceremony at 6 PM at the clocktower, led by Mayor Ray Huddleston and Santa.

From 6 to 8:30 PM, the celebration will continue at Springhill City Park with Christmas in the Park. The evening will include free family activities such as face painting, barrel train rides, horse-drawn carriage rides, games, caricature drawings, a bounce house and live Christmas music.

Food trucks will be on-site, along with snow effects and extended shopping hours for Shop Small Saturday.

Organizers said the event is designed to showcase small-town holiday spirit and bring the community together for a day of free, family-friendly fun.

Christmas on Main will take place throughout downtown Springhill and at Springhill City Park. For event updates, vendor lists and additional information, follow Springhill Main Street or the Springhill–North Webster Chamber of Commerce on Facebook.
