Springhill, LA – Citizens About Progress (CAP) is saddened to report that our organization has been the victim of a senseless theft. Essential equipment that supports our youth programs was stolen, jeopardizing our ability to reopen for the 2025–2026 school year this September.
An investigation is currently underway, but in the meantime, we are calling on our community for immediate support. The stolen equipment plays a vital role in providing homework help, tutoring, enrichment, recreation, and meals to local students and families.
This act has placed an unexpected financial burden on our small, rural-based nonprofit, but we are determined to move forward with the help of those who believe in our mission.
How You Can Help:
To support our recovery and help us reopen on time, donations can be made through:
- Cash App: $Tm5941
- PayPal: [email protected]
- Checks Can be mailed to 363 Mill Pond Rd Springhill, La 71075
Every dollar brings us closer to replacing what was lost and reopening our doors to the children and families who count on us.
“We’ve worked hard to create a safe, empowering space for youth in our community. This theft doesn’t just hurt us—it hurts the future of our kids,” said Terrell Mendenhall, Founder and COO of Citizens About Progress.
We appreciate the love, prayers, and donations during this difficult time and remain committed to rebuilding stronger than ever.
