City: Don’t fall for utility bill scam

by Minden Press-Herald

Mayor Tommy Davis informed the Press-Herald yesterday of a phone scam plaguing Minden residents regarding their electricity bills.

“They’re calling people and claiming that if they don’t pay their bill in thirty minutes, their electricity will be cut off,” he said. “That’s not the way the city handles business.”

Davis said the scam calls are coming out of St. Landry Parish from the number 318-405-3711. Regardless of the number, he said that if anyone is making this claim, they are not with the City of Minden.
