Community Resource Fair draws strong turnout in Minden

by Amber McDown

The Community Resource Fair, held Thursday at Minden Presbyterian Church, drew a strong turnout as local residents connected with area nonprofits and service providers.

Organizers said the event was well-attended, with dozens of vendors offering information, resources, and volunteer opportunities.

Participating organizations included New Horizons Independent Living Center, Joe LeBlanc Food Pantry, Hearts & Halos, UCAP, The Retreat for Women on Lake Bistineau, Minden Medical Center, SOS Prison Ministries, Mercy’s Closet, CASA, Seeds Women’s Center, The Generation House, Webster Parish Community Services, and the Lions Club. Additional local groups were also on hand.

The fair was designed to highlight services available to those in need while also encouraging community involvement through volunteering.
