Domestic abuse arrest made after incident on Shreveport Road

by Minden Press-Herald

A Sarepta man was arrested Tuesday on a charge of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment after an alleged assault inside a vehicle on Shreveport Road, according to a Minden Police Department report.

Tyreaka Johnson, 20, was taken into custody April 22 after his girlfriend told officers he slapped her several times while she was driving near the 1400 block of Shreveport Road with their 6‑month‑old son in the back seat. The woman said Johnson had come to her residence on Tillman Street earlier that night, and she agreed to give him a ride to meet his mother at a restaurant in Dixie Inn.

During the trip, Johnson allegedly struck the woman, knocked her glasses off and twice pulled the steering wheel from her hands, the report states. Upon arriving at the restaurant, the victim ran inside, asked employees for help and called police. Officers noted minor swelling under her eye.

Johnson was booked on one count of domestic abuse battery with child endangerment. Police said it was his second arrest on the same charge; the earlier incident occurred October  7, 2024.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
