Elementary Apaches win games agains JGS, Claiborne

The Glenbrook Apaches elementary team has been busy winning games in 2016.
Here’s a recap of their action so far.

5th-6th Grade
Glenbrook vs. JGS

Maddox Mandino had 145 rushing yards, 37 receiving yards and a pick six to finish with 4 total touchdowns to pace the Apaches past JGS.

Cooper Chase had a 19-yard rushing touchdown, while Landry Powell had two catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. Hayden Harmon and Reagan Coyle had two-point conversions for Glenbrook and Cason Clemons had two catches for 24 yards.

Landry Powell led the defense with 7 tackles, followed by Garrett Brown with 4 and Luke Vining and CJ Watts each had 3 tackles.

Reagan Coyle added an interception for the Apache defense.

Glenbrook vs. CA

Maddox Mandino led Glenbrook once again in a victory over CA, this time turning 7 carries into 207 yards and two touchdowns, adding a two-point conversion. Cason Clemons caught 2 passes for 53 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Landry Powell ran for 33 yards and a touchdown.

Garrett Brown led the defense with 6 tackles, followed by Mandino and CJ Watts with 5, Cayd Herron and Chase Tolbert with 4 tackles, Landry Powell and Hayden Harmon with 3 tackles and Dayton Sims, Reagan Coyle, Spencer Brantley and Connor Wood all added 2 tackles each.

Glenbrook vs. Riverdale

Landry Powell had the big night for Glenbrook in a win over Riverdale, finishing with 3 carries for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns, adding a two-point conversion run as well.

Maddox Mandino carried twice for 76 yards and a touchdown, followed by Cooper Chase with an 11-yard touchdown, Reagan Coyle with 12 yards rushing and Cason Clemons with a 17-yard carry.

Clemons also caught one pass for 56 yards and a touchdown. Hayden Harmon had 18 yards receiving and a two-point conversion score. Mandino had one catch for 9 yards, Reagan Coyle had a 17-yard catch and Price Miller added a 27-yard catch.

CJ Watts had 4 tackles to lead the defense, followed by Landry Powell, Maddox Mandino and Luke Vining with 3 tackles each. Garrett Brown, Cayd Herron, Hayden Harmon, Reagan Coyle, Aaron Buffington and Grayson Williams all finished with 2 tackles each.

3rd-4th Grade
Glenbrook vs. JGS

The third and fourth-grade Apaches picked up a big win over JGS.
The team was led by Preston Frye with 9 carries for 110 yards and a touchdown. Easton Sanders finished the game well with 7 carries for 87 yards and a touchdown on the night.

Sanders also went 3-of-4 passing for 22 yards from the pocket.

Cade Vining finished the game with 4 carries for 37 yards on the ground for Glenbrook, followed by Donovan Weston who had 3 catches for 22 yards on the night.

The defense was led by Preston Frye with 8 tackles in the game, followed by Easton Sanders and Cade Vining with 7 tackles each. Preston Pope finished with 5 tackles for the Apaches, followed by Gage White with 4 tackles, Hayes Branch with 3 tackles and Gage Machen made 2 nice tackles for the Apache defense.
