Students from the Elementary Expanding Horizons program in Webster Parish Schools recently had the opportunity to delve into the vibrant history of Mardi Gras firsthand. As part of their ongoing research project on the cultural celebration, the students visited the Mardi Gras museum located in Bossier City.

The excursion proved to be an enriching experience for the EH students, offering them a tangible connection to the traditions and customs they had been studying in the classroom. Stepping into the museum, they were greeted with a treasure trove of exhibits showcasing the colorful history and heritage of Mardi Gras.

For weeks, the students had been immersed in their research, learning about the origins of Mardi Gras, its significance in various cultures, and the evolution of its traditions over time. The visit to the museum provided a unique opportunity for them to witness artifacts, costumes, and displays that brought their studies to life.
