Celebration of Life Services for Emma Lee Jackson Major will be held Saturday, January 25th at 11:00 A.M. at Union Grove B.C. with Rev. Alvin Shelton officiating.  Interment will follow at the St. Matthew Cemetery.

Emma Lee Major was born on April 25, 1928 in Webster Parish, Louisiana to Webster Jackson and Rosa Law Jackson.  She was the 3rd of eight children born to this parentage.

Emma united in Holy Matrimony to James Major.  She was well known for her expertise in sewing and cooking.  She had a special affection for her grandchildren and great grandchildren, giving each of them an enduring nickname. 

She departed this earthly life on January 14th in Shreveport.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son, Charles Ray Major; two brothers; three sisters; and four grandchildren. 

Mrs. Emma Major leaves to cherish her precious memories:  two daughters, Eloise Sanders and Brenda Elaine Thomas, both of Sibley; three sons, James Edward Major of Sibley, Harvey Wayne Major (Tonia) of Minden, and Willie Jackson of Sibley; ten grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; two sisters, Lurlene Jackson of Sibley and Thelma Jackson of Houston, TX; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, January 24th in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM.   Services are entrusted to Kennon’s Mortuary.  Email condolences may be sent to [email protected]
