Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Esther Mae Hill Crawford will be held Saturday, Interment will follow at the Sheppard Street Cemetery.

Mrs. Esther Hill Crawford was born May 7, 1924 to the late Albert Hill and Savanah Benton Outley in Choudrant, LA. She departed this life on April 12, 2018.

Esther Crawford accepted Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of New Light Baptist Church until her health prevented her from being active. She was loved to walk and work in her flower beds. She enjoyed spending time with her grandkids and the children in the neighborhood.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Drew Crawford; two sons, Dewayne Henderson and Carl Cosby; a grandson, Michael Cosby; a great grandson, Damien Cosby; brothers, Albert Hill and David Hill; and a sister, Annie Eagles.

Mrs. Crawford leaves to cherish her memory: four sons, Harold Cosby (Kim) of Denver, CO, Ronnie Henderson, Andra Crawford, and Russell Crawford (LaKita), all of Minden; two daughters, Carolyn Faulkner (Tommy) of Compton, CA and Delandra Thompson (David) of Minden; twenty-three grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Larry Hill of Dallas, TX and Bobby Hill of Monroe, LA; five sisters, Edna Hill of Minden, Shirley Hill, Augustine Hill, Emma Jean Hill, and Bonnie Faye Hill, all of Monroe, LA; lifelong friends, Carrie Wright and Maggie Sowls; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held Friday, April 20 in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary from 10:00 AM to 6:00 P.M. and Family Hour from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Services are entrusted to Kennon’s Mortuary. Email condolences may be sent to kennonsmortuary@suddenlink.net.
