Gerald R. Ivy, former owner of Ivy’s Floor Covering on Sibley Road in Minden died on Aug. 11, 2016 at his home. He is a WW II veteran and serviced in the Army Air Corps/Air Force. His final resting place will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in Castor beside his wife. The funeral is under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden. The family will receive friends Monday, August 15 from 5 until 7 p.m. and funeral services will be on Tuesday, August 16 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home with private burial.
Gerald was born Nov. 13, 1927 in Castor. He was preceded into death by his wife Sharon J. Ivy. He is also preceded in death by his son Jerald Ivy; brothers Tommy Ivy and Huey Ivy; and sister Opal Laschatz.
Gerald is survived by: his children Cathleen Ivy, daughter, and her husband Howard Ham of Stuart, Florida; and sons Scott Ivy and his wife Sonya of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; and Steve Ivy of Shreveport. Gerald is also survived by his sister Carolyn Smith, a brother Bobby Canterbury, six grandchildren: JonMikhail Ivy, Hunter Ivy, Logan Williams, Fatte Ivy, Catlin Ivy and Cappi Ivy. He had one great-grandchild, Eli Ivy.
