David Raines Community Health Centers will be holding a free mammography screening event Thursday, October 3, from 8 AM to 3 PM at 128 Homer Road in Minden.
The event’s theme, “Give Cancer the Squeeze”, gives a lighthearted nod to the mammogram procedure, while keeping the focus on early detection and breast cancer prevention. Free refreshments will be served, and staff will be on-site to help schedule future appointments.
Screenings will be provided by the Partners in Wellness Mammography Van. Women who have not had a mammogram within the past 11 months are encouraged to schedule an appointment by calling 318-377-1545, extension 7010.
Organizers said the goal is to encourage women to make their health a priority: “Your fight is our fight. Early detection saves lives.”
