It’s been nearly nine months since a Webster Parish school has stepped foot on the gridiron for a regular season game, but that changes tonight.
The Glenbrook Apaches will make their way onto their home field at Apache Stadium at 7 p.m. for their season-opening game against MAIS Class AAAA Copiah Academy, officially ending the offseason and kicking off a season bursting with hope and excitement in Apache territory.
The Apaches finished 1-9 last season in their debut campaign under second-year head coach Caleb Carmikle, Glenbrook’s worst finish in over a decade. This season, Glenbrook aims to get back to their winning ways with an improved roster on both sides of the ball. It won’t be easy against a Copiah squad expected to dress close to 50 players. Last year’s matchup went south in a hurry for the Apaches, ending in a Copiah rout, 58-7.
