Glenbrook School welcomes new Head Football Coach Greg Tibbitt

by Amber McDown

Glenbrook School hosted a meet-and-greet for its new head football coach, Greg Tibbitt, on March 26 at the school, just before the baseball and softball games. Parents and students attended to meet Tibbitt or reconnect with him. He was joined by his wife, Whitney, and their sons, Braxton and Maddox.

Tibbitt previously served as Glenbrook’s head football coach and athletic director, with current athletic director James Thurman as one of his coordinators at the time. Both later departed, but Thurman returned five years ago. Now, with Tibbitt’s return, their roles have shifted.

Tibbitt comes from Green Forest High School in Arkansas, where he was the football coach and athletic director. The school has a diverse student body, with many students of Hispanic, Korean, Thai, and Burmese backgrounds. “It was a very challenging experience,” Tibbitt said.

The Tibbitts plan to move back to the area in May. Toward the end of the month, Coach Tibbitt will hold parent and coaches meetings to distribute schedules and calendars.

“I’m glad to be back. I’m excited to be here,” Tibbitt said.
