Harold L. Gardner

by Will Phillips

Harold L. Gardner was born on October 12, 1968, and was raised in Minden, Louisiana by his adoptive father, Terry L. Gardner and Terry’s wife, Debbie Gardner. He attended Webster Parish Schools where he made many life-long friends. Like many teenage boys, he loved fast trucks and off-road ATVs. His motorcycle was his pride and joy at that time in his life. He was a hard worker and learned discipline and responsibility at the family business. His work can still be seen throughout Minden and Louisiana through his love of landscaping. Harold loved water sports and was an avid scuba diver and enjoyed his scuba diving adventures.

Harold L. Gardner attended church at First Baptist of Minden and was baptized in 1993. He was finally freed from the chains of addiction by his Lord and Savior. He fought this battle for years and it was his Lord who finally decided Harold had struggled enough and brought him home peacefully. We share this in the hope that other lives may be saved and his death will not be in vain. He has started a new life and although it is not the one he was planning, it is far better and eternal. He has now found the peace he so desperately searched for here on earth.

Harold is survived by his father and stepmother Terry L. Gardner and Debbie Gardner; brother David Byers; his grandmother Annie Belle Walker; and numerous aunts and uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather and grandmother Aubrey and Joyce Gardner; his paternal uncle Ronnie L. Gardner.

A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020, at First Baptist of Minden. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the service begins at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in Harold’s name be made to First Baptist Minden, Celebrate Recovery or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

“Our broken hearts will forever feel the loss and emptiness of Harold’s absence. A father’s love is unconditional and never-ending,” love, Dad.
