Hearts & Halos workshop brings support, fellowship to families

by Amber McDown

Hearts & Halos: Infant and Pregnancy Loss Awareness recently hosted its “Growing Through It” painting and craft workshop Saturday, March 14, bringing community members together for fellowship, creativity, and support.

Founder Neisa Murray said the event provided participants with an opportunity to connect with others who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss. Attendees took part in craft activities and conversations designed to promote healing and community.

Hearts & Halos was created to honor babies lost too soon while offering encouragement and resources for parents, relatives, and loved ones affected by pregnancy or infant loss.

Murray said the organization has several upcoming events planned to continue offering support and opportunities for connection. Hearts & Halos hosts “Holding Space for Hope” Social Circle gatherings via Zoom, designed to provide a safe environment for individuals to share experiences and find encouragement.

The group will also host “She Still Blooms: Mother’s Day Social” on Saturday, May 2, at Elegance on Union in Minden. The event will focus on healing and self-care for mothers who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss, along with supportive loved ones.

Later in the summer, the organization plans to hold the “Daddies With Angels Cookout” on Saturday, June 13, at Miller Quarters Park in Minden. The Father’s Day-themed event will recognize fathers affected by pregnancy or infant loss and provide a space for families to gather and support one another.

Additional events planned later this year include the 2nd Annual Angel Baby Fun Run on October 10 and a Halo Tree Ornament Workshop scheduled for December 12.

Murray said Hearts & Halos will continue organizing activities and outreach efforts to raise awareness and provide support for families coping with pregnancy and infant loss.
