Defending champion Glenbrook continued to roll in District 1-1A and Minden dropped its District 1-4A opener Tuesday.
Glenbrook defeated Haynesville 7-1 at Haynesville and Minden fell to Northwood 9-4 in the first of a two-game series at Minden.
Elsewhere, Lakeside lost to Many 12-3 in the first of a two-game District 3-2A series at Lakeside, and Doyline fell to Simsboro 13-0 at Doyline.
At Haynesville, Glenbrook broke a scoreless tie with four runs in the top of the third. The Apaches added one in the fourth and two in the fifth.
Starter Darron Hollingsworth and reliever Davis Powell limited the Tors to five hits. Hollingsworth allowed three hits, struck out five and walked three in 4 1/3 innings. Powell gave up two hits, struck out three and walked none in 2 1/3.
Ryan Reagan went 2-for-4 with a double. Davis Powell had three RBI. Kleaton Davis had a hit and drew two walks. Carson Powell drew two walks.
Glenbrook (12–10, 3-0) hosts Montgomery Friday at 6. Haynesville dropped to 7-4 and 1-1.
At Minden, the game was tied at 2 after one inning. Northwood’s Nathan Cervantes broke the tie with a three-run home run in the top of the second.
The Falcons added two in the fifth and two in the sixth to go up 9-2. The Tide scored three in the sixth.
Minden had five hits. Barron Bower went 2-for-3 with a double.
Minden (13-6) and Northwood (9-10) are scheduled to complete the series Thursday at Northwood at 6.
At Doyline, Simsboro’s David Cedotal pitched a one-hitter with 13 strikeouts and no walks.
Doyline (5-8) hosts Summerfield Thursday at 5. Simsboro improved to 12-5.
At Lakeside, the Warriors trailed 5-1 through five innings. Many pulled away with four in the sixth and three in the seventh.
Lakeside had eight hits. Gage Williams went 2-for-2 and walked twice. Kaleb Rolen went 2-for-2. Nate Wallace went 2-for-4.
Lakeside (5-15, 0-2) and Many (14-5, 3-0) face off again Thursday at Many at 6.
