High school baseball: Minden downs D’Arbonne Woods in high-scoring game

Minden defeated D’Arbonne Woods 17-13 in the second of a three-game series Friday in Farmerville.

Elsewhere, Glenbrook fell to Evangel Christian 8-1 at Glenbrook.

At D’Arbonne Woods, the Tide (3-0) took advantage of 19 walks. They got seven hits.

Keegan Pooe went 2-for-2 with a double and four RBI. He also drew three walks.

Bray Winston went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Jacob Jefferson, Landon Brewer, Barron Bower and Kyler Ray all had two RBI.

Minden scored 12 in the first inning and five in the seventh. D’Arbonne Woods had 11 hits and scored six in the bottom of the seventh.

Winston went six innings for the win.

The Tide and Timberwolves (1-2) are scheduled to complete the series Saturday at 1 p.m. at Griffith Stadium.

At Glenbrook, the Apaches (0-4) got only one hit against three Evangel pitchers. Glenbrook starter Ryan Reagan allowed two hits and one earned run in two innings with two strikeouts.

Darron Hollingsworth allowed one hit and one earned run with two strikeouts in two innings of relief.
