High school baseball: Minden gets 19th victory

The Minden Crimson Tide picked up their 19th win Friday, defeating Providence Classical Academy 15-0 at Minden.

Elsewhere, Glenbrook fell to Parkway 4-1 at Glenbrook, Lakeside lost to Northwood 12-6 at Lakeside and North Webster fell to Logansport 12-6 at North Webster.

At Minden, the Tide led 1-0 after two innings then scored five in the third and nine in the fourth.

Bray Winston went 4-for-4. Barron Bower went 3-for-3 with two RBI.

Jaxon Smith went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Jacob Jefferson had two RBI.

Dakota Streetman pitched a no-hitter with four strikeouts and two walks,

Minden (19-7) hosts Quitman Saturday at 1. PCA dropped to 7-11.

At Glenbrook, Parkway scored four runs in the third thanks to two walks, two errors and a single.

That was the Panthers’ only hit of the game. Glenbrook starter Brayden Watkins did not give up an earned run. He struck out six and walked three in six innings.

Five Apaches combined for five hits, all singles. Ryder Malone, Davis Powell and Ace Rolen had consecutive singles with no outs in the fifth, resulting in a run. But the Apaches were unable to get any closer.

Glenbrook (13-12) hosts Neville Monday at 6. Parkway improved to 9-14.

At Lakeside, the game was tied at three through through four innings, but Northwood scored nine in the fifth.

The Warriors had 12 hits. Mason Shipp went 2-for-3 with a double. Jake Glass had two hits, including a double. Drake Chreene, Kaleb Rolen and Maddox Vise had two hits each.

Lakeside (8-18) visits Oak Grove Monday at 5. Northwood improved to 10-13.

At North Webster, Tyler Brown went 2-for-4. Chandler Mckenzie had a triple. Gerrit  Gillentine had a double and two RBI.

North Webster (5-14) plays Fordyce, Ark., Saturday at 3 and Bradley, Ark. at 5. Both games are on the road. Logansport improved to 5-11.
