The Minden Crimson Tide defeated Northwood 1-0 in the second game of their District 1-4A series Thursday at Northwood.
The Crimson Tide (14-6, 1-1) and Falcons (9-11, 1-1) split the series.
Elsewhere, Lakeside fell to Many 5-4 in the second of their two-game District 3-2A series at Many.
In non-district games, Doyline defeated Summerfield 19-0 at Doyline and North Webster fell to Magnolia, Ark., 11-3 at Magnolia.
At Northwood, Landon Brewer threw a complete game. He scattered six hits, struck out 14 and walked four.
The Tide scored the game’s only run in the fourth. Hudson Brown, Jackson Smith, Barron Bower and Keegan Pope led off with four consecutive singles. Pope went 2-for-3.
The Falcons had runners at first and second in each of the first four innings. Brewer ended all four with strikeouts. Northwood got a one-out double in the seventh but the Tide ended the game with a double play.
Northwood’s Sam Ricord went the distance. He gave up six hits, struck out nine and walked one.
Minden visits Saline Friday at 6.
At Many, Lakeside tied the game at 4 with three runs in the top of the fourth. The Tigers regained the lead with one in the bottom of the inning.
Nate Wallace went 2-for-2 with a double. Mason Shipp didn’t allow a hit in three innings of relief.
Lakeside (5-15, 0-3) hosts Grant Monday at 6. Many improved to 15-5 and 4-0.
At Doyline, the Panthers took advantage of numerous hit-by-pitches, six walks and four errors in the three-inning game.
Sam Dodge went 2-for-4 with two RBi. Zack Moseley had a double and three RBI. Isiaiah Foster and Kamden Davidson had two RBI each.
Summerfield didn’t get a hit. Tyler Cox struck out five in two innings. Landon Burrough had a strikeout in one.
Doyline (6-8) visits Minden Saturday at 1.
