by Russell Hedges

Glenbrook Head Coach Reagan Smith has stepped down after two seasons.

Glenbrook Athletic Director James Thurman made the announcement Tuesday on the Glenbrook School Facebook page.

Smith’s record was 14-7. The Apaches went 8-3 in 2023 and 6-4 in 2024.

Glenbrook made the playoffs both seasons, falling in the second round in 2023 and first last season.

The Apaches finished tied for second in District 1-1A this past behind undefeated Haynesville, which is playing in the non-select Division IV championship game.

“Coaching at Glenbrook and working with these great kids has been incredibly rewarding. I’ll always be proud of our two years of winning records,” Smith wrote in a Facebook post. “I’ll also enjoy keeping track of the team in years to come. As for me, I’m very excited for what’s next!”

Smith replaced David Feaster following the first season Glenbrook was eligible for the LHSAA playoffs.

“Glenbrook School is officially beginning the search for a new head coach to lead its football program into the 2025 season,” Thurman wrote in his announcement. “After thoughtful discussions, Coach Reagan Smith and Glenbrook have mutually agreed to part ways. We are grateful for Coach Smith’s contributions to our program and wish him the very best in his future endeavors.

“With this transition, Glenbrook is looking for a passionate and experienced leader to continue building on the foundation of success and excellence within our football program.”

Thurman Is accepting applications for head coach.

“Anyone interested in applying is encouraged to reach out directly via email at [email protected],” he wrote.

“We are excited about the future of Glenbrook Football and look forward to finding the next great leader for our Apaches.”
