High school girls basketball: (Updated) Balanced scoring helps North Webster down Lakeside

Three Lady Knights scored in double figures as North Webster defeated the Lakeside Lady Warriors 46-35 Tuesday night at North Webster.

Shakyra Hawkins and Nazaria Caldwell scored 17 and 16 points, respectively. Makiyah White added 10.

Kylee Taylor paced Lakeside with 17.

Lakeside (6-3) got off to a good start. Lexi McIntosh scored all eight of her points in the first quarter and the Lady Warriors led 14-8. 

The Lady Knights rallied in the second as Hawkins, Caldwell and White all hit 3-pointers. A 13-4 run gave North Webster a 22-18 halftime lead.

Caldwell scored eight in the third as the Lady Knight extended the lead to 36-22. Taylor scored nine in the fourth.

North Webster visits Doyline Thursday. Lakeside is at Plain Dealing.

Elsewhere, Minden fell to undefeated Airline 53-21 at home. Glenbrook came close to picking up is first victory, falling to Providence Classical Academy 40-39 in Bossier City.

The Lady Tiders, who host Homer Thursday, dropped to 4-4. Brooklyn Jefferson led Minden with seven points, six rebounds and two steals,


Airline improved to 7-0.
