The Minden Crimson Tide opened the season with a victory and the Glenbrook Lady Apaches continued their strong start Saturday.
Minden defeated Choudrant 5-4 at home and Glenbrook downed Grace Christian 16-6 in the Logansport tournament.
At Minden, the Lady Tiders trailed 4-0 going into the seventh then took advantage of Choudrant mistakes to rally for the victory.
Tatum Oliver led off with a walk. Lizzie Balkom reached on an error and Oliver advanced to third. Kaelyn Williams put the ball in play and reached on a error. Oliver and Balkom scored.
Lindsay Ryan drew a walk. McKinley James hit a grounder. Two errors allowed Minden to tie it. Tatum Miller walked, putting runners at the corners.
Nola Lange walked to load the bases. Sky Savage then gave the Lady Tiders the victory with a single.
Savage had both of Minden’s hits. Ryan allowed four hits, struck out six and walked four.
Minden hosts North Webster Tuesday.
At the Logansport tournament, Glenbrook’s Gabi Brown went 4-for-5 with a home run, two doubles and three RBI in the six-inning game.
Kynzie Smith went 2-for-3 with a double. Ellie Earnhardt went 2-for-4 with a double. Anna Grace Vining hit a two-run home run and had three RBI.
Savannah Mangrum had a triple. Chloe Gregg had a double. Gracie Heard had two RBI.
Mangrum struck out 11 and walked four.
