High school track and field: Lakeside girls finish runner-up in District 3-2A meet

Lakeside finished runner-up in the girls division in the District 3-2A meet Thursday at Mansfield.

The Lady Warriors scored 128 points. Many won with 139. Red River was third with 108.

Mansfield won the boys division with 207 points. Many was second with 137 followed by Red River’s with 88, Winnfield with 83 and Lakeside with 62.

The top four finishers in each individual and relay event qualified for the Region I-2A meet next Wednesday at ULM.

Girls 

Sophomore Ryleigh Taylor won the long jump and finished second in the 100 and 200.

Taylor’s distance in the long jump was 17 feet, 2 inches. Mansfield’s A’naya Aldredge was second with a 16-2.5.

Taylor ran a 12.89 in the 100 and a 26.36 in the 200. Mansfield’s LaJordan Boykins won the 100 in 12.67 and the 200 in 25.90.

Other Lakeside winners were Abrielle Parker, Angel Collins and Jerryne Cole.

Parker won the 400 in 1:03.77. Red River’s Kaleah Crawford was second in 1:05.31. Parker also finished fourth in the 200 in 27.80.

Collins and teammate Paisley Ware finished 1-2 in the pole vault with heights of 7-0 and 6-6, respectively.

Cole took the triple jump with a 31-10. Aldredge was second with a 31-6.

Alexis McIntosh and Meredith Beckworth posted second-place finishes in the 800 and 1,600, respectively.

McIntosh ran a 2:54.80. Red River’s Jada Carey won with a 2:51.04. Beckworth ran a 6:40.85. Winnfield’s Dedriana Means won in 6:13.53. McIntosh was third in 6:43.36.

Alexis Laevano finished third in the 3,200 in 18:33.86.

Annalisa Jolly (qualified for the regional with a fourth-place finish in the 3,200.

All four relay teams qualified.

The foursome of McIntosh, Leavano, Annie Cooper and Beckworth finished second in the 4X800 in 11:49.52. Many won in 11:42.01.

The foursome of Taylor, Malaysia Kurtz, Justice Jackson and Cole finished fourth in the 4X100. The foursome of LaJayda Chipps, Collins, Jackson and Cole was fourth in the 4X200. The foursome of McIntosh, Cole, Lexi Wood and Parker finished fourth in the 4X400.

Boys

Lakeside’s Michael Beckworth and Mason Liles finished 2-3 in the 3,200 in 15:27.67 and 15:32.33, respectively. Many’s Carson Avery won in 12.47.10.

Jordin Febos finished third in the 1,600 and fourth in the 800. He ran a 5:33.70 in the 1,600. Red River’s Logan Mims won in 5:01.01.

Levi Arender was third in the 300 hurdles in 47.57. Many’s Keelan Maxie won in 41.99. Arender also qualified for the Region I-2A meet with a fourth-place finish in the javelin.

Kentravion Miller took third in the shot put with a throw of 40-1. Mansfield’s Tramajah Carroll won with a 42-4.

Noah David finished third in the pole vault with a 9-0. Mansfield’s Adam Davis won with a 10-0. 

DeKeyshiun Banks was fourth in the high jump.

Lakeside’s 4X800 and 4X200 relay teams qualified for the regional meet. Arender, Febos, David and Brennan Hubbard finished third in the 4X800 in 9:37.52. The 4X200 team was comprised of J’Quon Shehee, Banks, Malik Thorn and Hubbard.
