Minden athletes are headed to next week’s Region I-4A meet in seven boys and four girls events.
They qualified by placing in the top four in individual events and relays in the District 1-4A meet Thursday at North DeSoto.
Minden finished fifth in the boys division with 46 points. Northwood won with 127. Loyola was second with 115 followed by Booker T. Washington with 95 and North DeSoto with 90.
North DeSoto win the girls division with 154 points. Loyola was second with 124, Bossier third with 112, Northwood fourth with 67, BTW fifth with 38 and Minden sixth with 26.
The Region I-4A meet is next Thursday at Northwestern State.
Boys
Abreon Curry was Minden’s top finisher in an individual event. He took third in the triple jump with a distance of 40 feet, 2.5 inches. BTW’s Trammel Howard-Choice won with a 40-7.5.
Jakellson Thompson (110 hurdles), Kaiden Shine (200) and Holt Holliday (javelin) finished fourth in their respective events.
The foursome of Jaden Johnson, Shine, Ian Clark and Lucas Owens finished third in the 4X100 relay in 43.90. Northwood won in 42.18.
Devin Sills, Johnson, Owens and Shine combined for a third-place finish in the 4X200 in 1:31.73. Northwood won in 1:29.50.
The foursome of Gerald Richardson, Keshun Williams, Matthew Anderson and Ayden Morris took third in the 4X800 in 9:25.25. Loyola won in 8:27.50.
Girls
Akira Lofton finished second in the javelin with a throw of 86-3. North DeSoto’s Emma Rogers won with a 94-10.
Ky’Asia Rogers was fourth in the 200.
The foursome of Rogers, Parys Gillens, S’Mya Harrison and Jakeria Jordan was third in the 4X200 relay in 1:51.54. Bossier won in 1:48.21.
The foursome of Harrison, Rogers, Jordan and Makaela White finished fourth in the 4X100.
