High school track and field: North Webster qualifies three individuals, two relay teams for state meet

North Webster qualified three individuals and two relay teams for the state meet Wednesday at the Region I-3A meet in Monroe.

The top three individuals and relay teams in each event qualified for the Class 3A meet Friday, May 3, at LSU.

The foursome of Anekah Coleman, De’Maiyh Moore, Tatyana Lawson and Tomiyah Hawthorne finished second in the girls 4X100 meters relay in 50.03 seconds. Wossman won in 48.45.

The foursome of Kylee Sanders, Moore, Lawson and Xhailor McGlothan qualified with a third-place finish in the 4X200 in 1:45.72. Wossman won in 1:41.75.

McGlothan also qualified in the 300 hurdles with a third-place finish in 47.80. The race was close. McGlothan finished just .11 behind runner-up Mariah Heard of Bastrop and .41 behind winner Aniyah Glover of Northwest.

Xaeliin Gladney was second in the boys 400 in 52.33. Opelousas’ Dillon Guilbeau won in 51.75.

Gladney also finished fourth in the 200 in 23.0, just .23 behind the third-place finisher.

Avante Curry took third in the 300 hurdles in 41.87. Iota’s Dylan Callahan won in 39.85.

Kedrien Cody just missed qualifying in the 110 hurdles. He finished fourth in 16.65, .28 behind the third-place finisher.

Sanders finished fourth in the girls triple jump with a 32-0. Marksville’s Alaysha Deselle was third with a 32-10 1/2.

Iota won the boys team title with 91 points. Carroll was second with 89. North Webster finished eighth with 26.

Sterlington won the girls title with 101 points. Wossman was second with 93. North Webster was eighth with 34.
