A Homer man has been arrested for allegedly setting fire to a mobile home while two people were inside, according to the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
Joshua Winters, 35, was booked into the Claiborne Parish Jail on January 24 on two counts of attempted second-degree murder and one count of aggravated arson.
The Homer Fire Department responded to a mobile home fire in the 300 block of Oil Mill Street around 8:30 PM on January 8. A man and woman inside the home were able to escape unharmed.
Investigators determined the fire was intentionally set. Through investigative efforts, Winters, a former friend of the victims, was identified as the suspect. He was taken into custody without incident.
All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
