Young leaders with Project Reclaim spent Martin Luther King Jr. Day giving back to their community through a day of service at the Project Reclaim Center. Participants assisted with organizing files as well as reflecting on the meaning behind Dr. King’s legacy.
“Our young leaders spent the MLK holiday as a day of service at the Project Reclaim Center,” said Ron Anderson, executive director of Project Reclaim. “They helped with filling, organizing, helping with inventory, and some cleaning. We also reflected on Dr. King’s legacy and sacrifice.”

Project Reclaim, a leadership academy for elementary through high school students, aims to develop leadership skills, academic excellence, and respect for relationships through various training programs and hands-on activities.
In addition to service work, the young leaders participated in interview rehearsals on January 18 for the Project Reclaim TV YouTube channel. The Leadership Series will feature youth interviewing local community leaders, offering them real-world media training in TV production and post-production editing.
“These young people are ready! So proud of them!” Anderson said.
