A Houston man faces multiple felony charges after allegedly firing shots at a residence on Ewell Street late Sunday, authorities reported.
Police were dispatched to the 100 block of Ewell Street around 11:18 PM. on November 3, responding to reports of gunfire. The resident told officers that the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Keith Jackson of Houston, Texas, arrived at his home visibly upset over a job dispute. According to the resident, Jackson, whom he knew but did not employ, exited a black BMW, approached the front of the residence, and fired three rounds into the front door before driving away.
Officers observed bullet holes in the front door and found a 9 mm shell casing on the front porch along with a bullet inside the residence. Evidence was secured for analysis at the Minden Police Department.
Following a search, a black BMW matching the vehicle’s description was located on Walnut Street. Police observed Jackson near the vehicle, wearing clothing that matched the resident’s description. Jackson was later detained, and while he denied knowledge of the incident, police obtained his consent to search the vehicle, though no evidence was found inside.
With the homeowner’s consent, officers searched the exterior of the residence and found a firearm inside a BBQ grill that matched the caliber used in the shooting. The firearm, missing one round from its seven-round magazine, appeared recently placed.
Jackson also had an outstanding warrant with the Webster Parish Sheriff’s Office. He was arrested and booked on multiple charges, including illegal use of weapons, aggravated assault with a firearm, and aggravated criminal damage to property. Jackson was transferred to Bayou Dorcheat Correctional Center for holding, authorities said.
