The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development advises motorists that on the night of Sunday, October 6, 2024, I-20 in both the eastbound and westbound directions at the LA 531 interchange near Minden in Webster Parish will be closed.
This full interstate closure is scheduled to take place from approximately 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m., and is necessary to allow the contractor for the ongoing LA 531 overpass replacement project to place the concrete in the deck of the new bridge that is currently under construction.
During the closure, traffic will be diverted onto the off-ramps at LA 531, and back onto I-20 via the on-ramps.
The entire project is anticipated to be complete in Summer 2025, and also includes the construction of two roundabouts at the ramps for improved traffic flow and safety.
Restrictions/Permits: Total interstate closure at the specified location on the night of 10/6/2024. All vehicles will be detoured via the on and off-ramps at the interchange.
Alternate Route: N/A
This work will be performed WEATHER PERMITTING.
Safety reminder:
DOTD appreciates your patience and reminds you to please drive with caution through the construction site and be on the lookout for work crews and their equipment.
