Services for J.C. Johnson will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2015 at First United Methodist Church in Minden with burial to follow at Shady Grove Cemetery in Haynesville. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the church.
J.C. was born in Athens on Jan. 17, 1933 to Chester and Annie Maude Johnson. He graduated from Haynesville High School in 1951. J.C. was best known for his nearly 50-year career in the automobile business at Donnie Waller Ford, Bienville Motors, and J.C. Johnson Ford in Haynesville, Arcadia and Minden, respectively. During his career J.C. served as president and board member of Louisiana Automobile Dealers Association and Self Insurers Fund. He also served as president and board member of the Ford Dealers Advertising Fund.
Although J.C. was not a graduate of LSU, through his love for the university he was instrumental in starting the Webster Parish alumni chapter and scholarship fund. He went on to serve as a member of the LSU Alumni Board. Through his strong faith in God, J.C. was also an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Minden. J.C. was a devoted husband, father, and friend to many. His strong character, enthusiastic smile, and charm will be remembered by all.
J.C. is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 63 years, Annie Laura, brother, Donald (Frances), sister, Carolyn Olson (Richard), son, Don, grandchildren Dylan, Kyle, Lauren (John) and Heath (Amy), and three great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Annie Johnson of Haynesville and son Richard of Minden.
Pallbearers will be Dylan Johnson, Kyle Johnson, Heath Johnson, Cory Olson, John Mitchell, and Mike Olson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Homer Thomas, F.M. Branch, Doug Lewis, Russell Adams, Joe Story, Larry Jordan, Curtis McCrary, Fred Berry, and the Builders Sunday School Class.

Peace to the family, Mr. Johnson was a true gentleman. He will be greatly missed!
I always thought a lot of Mr. Johnson when I worked for Dr. Hunt. He and his family were such a plesure to take care of. Praying for Gods comfort during this difficult time.
