Celebration of Life Services for Johnnie Lee Willis, Sr. will be held Saturday, April 14, 2:00 P.M. at the King Solomon Baptist Church with Pastor Rodney E. Williams Officiating. Interment will follow at the King Solomon B.C. Cemetery.
Johnnie Lee Willis, Sr. was born June 8, 1937 to the late John Henry Willis, Sr. and Gertrude Berry Willis in Shreveport, LA. He departed this earthly life on April 5, 2018.
He united in Holy Matrimony to Betty Jean Harvey. This union spanned fifty-three years until his demise.
Mr. Willis was a member of the King Solomon Baptist Church where he was a member of the Male Chorus. He was employed by Sanitary Dairy and Minden High School as a custodian until his retirement.
Johnnie Willis enjoyed fishing, playing dominoes, joking and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Lee Edward Casey; a brother, Monroe Willis; two sons-in-law, Derek Hall, Sr. and Benjamin Washington.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving and devoted wife, Betty Willis; three sons, Johnnie Lee Willis, Jr. (Linda Faye) of Cleveland, OH, Dietrick Willis (Loretta) and John J. Willis, all of Sibley, LA; six daughters Greta Willis, Valerie Willis, both of Cleveland OH, Carolyn Douglas (Melvin) of Sibley, Tammy Hall of Minden, Maria Willis of Sibley, and Evelyn Willis of Minden; twenty-eight grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; two brothers, Herman Willis, Sr. and John Henry Willis, Jr. (Brenda) all of Sibley; three sisters, Hattie Turner of Minden, Mary Lee Snell (Buddy) of Bethesda, MD and Virgie Burks (Elijah) of Seattle, WA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 13th in the chapel of Kennon’s Mortuary from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Services are entrusted to Kennon’s Mortuary. Email condolences may be sent to [email protected].
