Karen’s Korner
Well, we are a little over half-way into 2025. I still have to think about writing 2025 on my checks. It has gone so fast it seems. And the older I get the faster the years seem to go.
Before long it will be Christmas again.
Making Memories is an activity I have been thinking about for some time.
If you get a notebook and write down three memories of your childhood, once a week, say, every Tuesday, and keep it current, it will provide your grandchildren and your family, those special moments that meant something to you in your life. Memories are very special.
Memories are events or experiences from the past that are stored in and can be recalled by the mind. They include a wide range of both positive and negative and are fundamental to personal identity, relationships, and our ability to function in daily life. Even though sometimes it is hard to remember specific events and that they may fade over time, it’s never too late to make a memory.,
Memories can be categorized in various ways according to: Verywellmind. “This model suggests that there are three main types of memory: sensory memory, short-term memory, and long-term memory. Sensory memory is very brief, short-term memory is slightly longer, and long-term memory can last a lifetime.”
I would sit at the feet of my Grandmother as a child and listen for as long as she would talk about what happened in her life, my Daddy’s life, and my Aunt Jimmie’s life as they, were growing up. It was entertaining, educational, and I loved the stories.
It’s never too late to make memories. Start today if you haven’t already begun. Write things down, keep a diary, use key words and provide precious memories for your loved ones to have and enjoy…Making memories is a great way to pass the time and provide special family moments.
