BASTROP – The Glenbrook Lady Apaches lost for the first time in two weeks on Monday, falling 3-2 to the Prairie View Lady Spartans.
The Lady Apaches swung the bats well, totaling eight hits for the game, but Prairie View scored the run they needed in the sixth to take the win.
Amber Lovitt singled in the first inning before advancing on a wild pitch and scoring on a fielder’s choice off the bat of Alyssa Martin.
Trailing 3-1 in the top of the seventh, Glenbrook got back-to-back singles from Megan Sims and Faith Earnhardt. With one out in the inning Kate Marvin singled to load the bases and Amber Lovitt scored Sims on a groundout.
With two outs, trailing by one Aubrie Dickson hit a fly ball to centerfield that was caught to end the game.
The loss snapped a six-game winning streak for the ladies, but they will look to start a new streak against Union Christian on Thursday at home.
