Students from Lakeside High School’s Future Business Leaders of America chapter earned top honors at the recent state conference, with several advancing to national competition this summer.

Instructor Lesa Ward said 11 students represented the school at the event, with five placing in their respective categories.

“We head to nationals in San Antonio in June,” Ward said.

Joe McGraw led the group with a first-place finish in Advanced Accounting. Hayden Gregg placed third in Agribusiness, while Owen Bell earned third in Accounting, securing a qualification for the national conference.

Additional top-10 finishes included Caden Doyle, who placed seventh in Sales Presentation, and Landon Finley, who finished ninth in Computer Problem Solving.

The results continue a strong showing for Lakeside’s FBLA program, as students demonstrated skills in business, finance, and problem-solving against competitors from across the state.

Students who qualified will travel to San Antonio in June to compete at the national level, where they will face top performers from across the country.

Ward also noted the chapter will host a Career Expo at Lakeside High School on April 1, providing students with an opportunity to explore career paths and connect with professionals from a variety of fields.
