Students from Lakeside High School earned multiple top finishes at the Educators Rising State Conference held March 13 at Louisiana College, marking a strong debut for the school’s Dual Enrollment Pre-Educator class.
Instructor Carrie Woodard said the group made an immediate impact in its first year of participation.
“In their very first year participating, Lakeside showed up in a big way,” Woodard said.
Educators Rising is a national organization whose mission is “To inspire and grow current and rising educators to become community leaders and advocates for high quality education.”
In state competition results, Madelyn Hannah and Addi Wiggins placed first in Interactive Bulletin Board Elementary, Varsity. Falon McGlothren earned first place in Educators Rising Moment Speech, Junior Varsity. Baylee Irby and Allie Swayze placed third in Project Visualize, Varsity, while Dolli Roberts finished fourth in Educators Rising Moment Speech, Varsity.

Several students also ranked among overall winners across divisions. McGlothren placed fifth in Educators Rising Moment, Irby and Swayze placed fourth in Project Visualize, and Hannah and Addison Wiggins earned second in Interactive Bulletin Board Elementary.
All six students qualified for the national conference scheduled for June.
“Even more impressive, all six girls earned a spot at the National Conference in June. I could not be more proud of these girls for their hard-work and determination. The future of education looks bright with these inspiring educators,” Woodard said.
Woodard added that the achievement is especially notable given the program’s recent start.
“And I must add this was our first year to have this class. I’m in awe!!!” she said.
