Lakeside turns heads at Ark-La-Tex Cross Country Meet

Parkway’s Ark-La-Tex Border Cross Country Meet brought out the best in four Lakeside Warrior varsity runners, with four personal best times posted on the day.

Alissa Lander started by running a personal best time of 18:27 over the three-mile course. Lander finished second behind Parkway’s Sara Funderburk who ran an outstanding time of 17:47. Tynia Joiner was 52nd out of 104 runners with a time of 25:31.

In the boys’ three-mile run, Eric Greene ran a personal best time of 15:40 which placed him third behind a winning time of 15:20 and a second place 15:32. Cody Robinson had a personal best of 16:25, good for eighth place. Finishing 14th with a personal best of 17:20 was Tyler Davis. There were 140 runners in the varsity boys division.

In the Junior High girls’ two mile competition the Lady Warriors were second closely trailing Caddo Middle Magnet. Angelina Futch placed third at 15:27. Kerrigan Zachry was fourth at 15:28. Finishing 10th was Kaylee Davis at 16:22. Essence Anderson claimed 15th at 16:48. Egypt Anderson was 57th at 20:48.
Jeremiah Brown placed 94th in the Junior High boys’ two-mile race at 19:02.
