Lavern D. Shepherd went to rest in the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Nov. 16, 2016. She was born Feb. 2, 1936.
Preceding her in death are husband Charlie Shepherd, brother Odell Daniel, sister Earmie Holmes and brother Claudell Daniel.
Her memory will be cherished by her children, grandchildren and close friends including daughter Evelyn (Vernon) Farmer; three sons, Lannis, Charley (Heidi) and Carl (Shih-Pei); one goddaughter Rebecca Myles; one sister Olevia (Dewey) Odom, one brother Joe(Mattie) Daniel; seven grandchildren Lannisha, Alicia, Lannis, Milton, Taylor, Jordan and Nicholas and 13 great-grandchildren.
She also leaves numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Interment will be held at Homer Civic League Cemetery, Hwy. 531 in Dubberly, and repast will take place at Central Community Center across from Mt. Nebo M.B.C.
Services are entrusted to Benevolent Funeral Home, 401 East Union St. in Minden, and will be held Wednesday, Nov. 23 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Nebo M.B.C., 5489 Hwy 531 in Dubberly. Officiating will be Pastor James E. Smith.
