Young chefs fired up their grills and showed off their skills during the Little Grillers competition, held as part of the annual Grilling on Main festivities. The event, open to youth ages 6–18, drew strong participation and showcased impressive culinary abilities from local contestants.
Competitors were divided into two age groups: Junior Division (ages 6–12) and Senior Division (ages 13–18). All participants were provided with two 1-inch thick pork loin chops, a grill, chimney starter, lighter cubes, and charcoal to take home. Supplies were sponsored by Hugh Wood Catering and Specialty Meat.
According to contest guidelines, each contestant was required to cook in a designated area and complete all preparation, cooking, and presentation without assistance. One adult was allowed to help start the fire, but otherwise, the grilling was entirely in the hands of the young chefs.

In the Junior Division, Triton Kirkland earned first place honors, with Taylor Watkins taking second. In the Senior Division, Emerson McLelland claimed first place, and Raeley McNiel finished second.

The grilling action continues this weekend, with the adult grilling competition scheduled for Saturday, June 14.
