Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles to stop accepting cash

BATON ROUGE — Beginning Tuesday, the Louisiana Office of Motor Vehicles will not accept cash for transactions.

State officials say acceptable forms of payment will include debit cards, credit cards, checks, money orders and cashier checks for driver’s licenses, identification cards, mobility impaired hang-tag and vehicle transactions.

For reinstatement transactions, debit cards, credit cards, money orders, and cashier checks will be accepted.
