Man arrested on domestic abuse, resisting charges after disturbance

by Minden Press-Herald

A 52-year-old man was arrested Saturday evening following a reported domestic disturbance in the 200 block of Chrysler Street, according to a Minden police report.

Dimitrius Castle, 52, was taken into custody after officers responded to the area at about 5:20 PM January 17. Police said a woman reported that Castle, her ex-boyfriend, entered a residence without permission and immediately began a verbal altercation.

According to the report, the woman said Castle pushed her, grabbed her by the hair and choked her. She told officers she was able to move his hand from her neck and run to the kitchen, but Castle followed her and again grabbed her by the throat. The woman reported yelling for him to stop and leave her alone.

Officers later went to Castle’s residence to make contact. Police said Castle refused to come outside, denied wrongdoing and yelled profanities at officers despite being advised he was under arrest. After being taken into custody, Castle was transported to the Minden Police Department for booking.

Castle was charged with domestic abuse battery with strangulation and resisting an officer.

All subjects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
