Minden City Attorney Charles Minifield is retiring

by Joshua Specht

Earlier today, Mayor Terry Gardner stated that he has received a Letter from City Attorney Charles Minifield announcing his retirement set for the end of May.

This retirement isn’t entirely out of the blue, given the fact that the termination and hiring of a new City Attorney has been on the Council’s meeting agenda for two months now. However, due to the council not having enough present members to hold a quorum, the city has not been able to address it.

Minifield’s letter to Gardner reads, “Please accept this letter as my formal notification that I will be retiring from the city as city attorney. My last day of employment will be May 31, 2020.”
