The vibrant and colorful spirit of Mardi Gras is set to take center stage in Minden as the community prepares for its annual Mardi Gras Parade on January 27, 2024. The festivities are scheduled to commence at 5:00 PM in downtown Minden.
The parade, a lively celebration deeply rooted in local culture, will kick off at E.S. Richardson Elementary School and traverse the streets, following a carefully planned route. Starting at Elm Street, it will wind its way through East and West, turning on McDonald Street, traveling to Main Street, up to Pine Street, and returning on Broadway Street back to Elm Street.
Attendees can anticipate a procession featuring vibrant floats, festive music, and participants adorned in creative costumes. The traditional act of tossing beads will be accompanied by a showcase of the rich cultural traditions associated with Mardi Gras.
Taylor Wren, Minden Main Street director, expressed enthusiasm, stating, “This year’s Mardi Gras Parade is set to be a highlight of our community calendar. We encourage everyone to join us for an evening of joy, laughter, and community spirit. The parade is a fantastic way to celebrate our unique culture and create lasting memories with family and friends.”
