Jerry and Cindy Madden, avid boaters and water/ boating safety educators, will be the guest speakers at the Minden Lions Club meeting at noon on May 17, 2018. They are Coast Guard and Coast Guard Auxiliary certified instructors, Jerry since 2002, Cindy since 2009. They have been involved in water/boating safety programs at the Garland Scout Ranch, Homeland Security for the Cross Lake Marine Patrol and on the campuses of Centenary College and LSUS . They have also taught classes at Lake of The Pines and Lake Claiborne. The program will feature videos of the ten year project of rebuilding of the PT305 patrol boat built by the Higgins Company in New Orleans and the Maddens’ trip on that vessel on Lake Pontchartrain in April, 2017.
