Minden native, retired Army veteran to host book signing at Webster Parish Library

by Amber McDown

Dr. Sharon Jean Smith, a Minden native, retired United States Army veteran, and author, will host a book signing later this month at the Webster Parish Library main branch in Minden.

The event will be held from 2 PM to 4 PM on May 16 at the library, located at 521 E. and W. St. in Minden. Smith will discuss her newly released book, Testimony Loading: Experiencing God’s Healing Peace, meet readers, and sign copies during the event.

Smith, a graduate of Minden High School’s Class of 1981, served more than 20 years in the United States Army before retiring from the U.S. Army Tank-Automotive & Armament Command, commonly known as TACOM.

She now lives in Clinton Township, where she leads Heart To Heart Ministries, a nonprofit organization focused on faith-based outreach, encouragement, and community service.

Smith’s book centers on spiritual healing and personal testimony. The book shares stories from women who overcame challenges including sickness, loss, betrayal, and uncertainty through faith and perseverance.

The book description states, “What if your healing is hidden inside someone else’s story?”

Drawing inspiration from Revelation 12:11, Smith writes about the importance of sharing personal testimony as a path to healing and encouragement for others.

The public is invited to attend the free event, meet the author, and learn more about her journey and message of faith and healing.
